  Status

  Field-validated, preparing Play Store release

  Fuel density and API gravity calculation for aviation, marine, and tank farm operators. Implements ASTM D1250 Tables 54B and 6B iteratively, plus API MPMS 11.2.1 compressibility. Checked against six real measurements at an airport fuel facility, which is how two corrections were found that the textbook formulas do not mention.

  Status

  Portfolio project, mock data only

  Offline-first aircraft fuel dispatch board with role-based access, an eight-step fuelling wizard, and per-aircraft tank layouts. Room is the single source of truth, so the board stays usable when the ramp loses signal. Built from my own years working the ramp as a fueller and team leader.

  Status

  Watch entries, two-stage sign-off, and write-once PDF exports verified with SHA-256, synced across a fleet when a connection is available. The permission model and the sign-off rules come from seven years of keeping these logs by hand at sea, including the awkward cases such as a watch with only one engineer on it.

  A discovery app that orchestrates six APIs — NPS, OSM Overpass, YouTube, Google Places, OpenWeather, and Recreation.gov — behind lazy enrichment, tiered caching, and multi-endpoint retry. The interesting problem here was not the interface but keeping request cost and failure rate down when half the sources are public infrastructure that can be slow or briefly unavailable.

About

The route into software was not a straight line, and the detours are the reason the applications above exist.

1. 2006 – 2011

   Marine maintenance and ship repair

   Maritime vocational high school, Turkey

   Fitter and ship repair technology. Workshop practice on engines, pumps, and piping before ever stepping onto a working vessel.

2. REPLACE-YEARS · seven years

   Engineer officer at sea

   Multiple shipping companies · Second Engineer Officer, 3000 kW, all waters, STCW

   Watchkeeping, maintenance, and the engine room logbook — filled in by hand, every watch, on every ship. That routine is the direct source of EngineRoomLog, including the parts that are awkward to model, such as a watch standing with only one engineer aboard.

   

3. 2015 – 2017

   Associate degree, computer programming

   Manisa Celal Bayar University

   The first formal programming study, taken alongside maritime work.

4. REPLACE-YEARS

   Quality control, wind turbine blades

   TPI Composites, Izmir · ENERCON E-138 and E-126

   Inspection on composite blades tens of metres long, where a defect that passes is a defect that ships. Different industry, same instinct: the procedure exists because someone learned what happens without it.

5. Oct 2018 – May 2020

   Customer Relations Representative (English)

   AssisTT · Turkish Airlines project

   Reviewing and resolving customer feedback tickets in English. Two years of reading complaints closely enough to find the actual failure behind them.

6. REPLACE-YEARS – present

   Aircraft fueller, team leader, maintenance mechanic

   Menzies Aviation, Charlotte, NC

   Fuelling aircraft on the ramp, then leading a team, then maintaining the fuel facility itself. FuelOps and RampDispatch both come from this work: the wheel chart in one pocket and the dispatch board on a whiteboard.

7. 2025 – present

   Mobile development, self-directed

   Studying alongside full-time shift work and building the four applications above. Relocating to Nova Scotia in November 2026 on a Canadian open work permit valid through 2029.
